Hello, dear Readers!
Exciting news!! :D I finally got my Harry Potter bookmarks that I ordered, and they're now up in the shop! :D Ahhh, I'm so excited. I don't usually print my work, simply storing them online or on my hard drive instead, so getting printed copies of it feels so cool! xD ('Scuse me while I fangirl for a few moments. xD)
I am SO excited to share them with you all! :D I drew each one out on paper in my handy dandy little sketchbook with pencil first, specifically designing with the bookmarks in mind. Next, on to Photoshop, where they were each painted with painstakingly attention to detail (cheesy, but true! xD). Then off to the printing services, and they were printed on 15 pt card stock at 2 inches by 6, and then were coated with a full UV gloss on both sides, making it look all shiny and official. xD So cool. :] Then I got to have fun photographing them at the park while people stared at the person photographing their books and jewelry on a bench. xD ha ha ha It's cool, tho-- I got Tourette's, I'm used to people staring. ha ha ha
Also! My Harry Potter holiday cards arrived shortly afterward, as well! :D The process was the same: started with a simple sketch, designed with a Christmas card in mind, then painted in Photoshop, then shipped off to the printers who sent them to me on these lovely, folded 5 inch by 7 inch, glossy coated card. Ahhhh, it definitely feels like Christmas with all these goodies in my home! xD
So if you're interested in one or more of these lovelies, you can find them in my Etsy shop here, along with my super warm and comfy Potter-inspired, crochet scarves. :3 (Seriously, they're super soft and cute.) They would make wonderful stocking stuffers for those of you looking for Christmas gifts, good old fashioned Owl Post, or even great as a midterm-cheering-up gift for a student in your life (or for you!).
So that's enough of me fangirling and such (just so excited! :D), and here are some photos for you to check out the process and the final products! :D
Here's the beginning of the process (a.k.a. where the magic happens ;D): it all starts with my sketchbook and a trusty pencil and eraser.
